Why Us? Leadership: Meet Michael Bordelon, VP Credit Administration / Director of Compliance
We’re so excited to welcome Michael Bordelon back to Bank of Little Rock! After spending the last few years in Portland and Chicago, Michael returned to Little Rock to be closer to family—and we’re grateful to have him home. He values the time he spent away, gaining new experiences and learning important skills, but says it feels good to be back where relationships come first. With 23 years in banking and 12 of those at BLR, Michael’s return brings not only expertise but a passion for helping people thrive.
Michael serves as Vice President of Credit Administration and Director of Compliance. In this role, he helps ensure the bank’s lending practices are sound, responsible, and aligned with regulatory expectations—all while supporting our team in delivering the best possible service to our customers.
A Louisiana native, Michael graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston with a degree in Human Resources Management. He got his start in banking as a high school student, working as a Customer Service Representative and generalist—a role that gave him a well-rounded foundation and sparked a lifelong passion for the industry.
Outside of work, Michael is an avid traveler and rollercoaster enthusiast. He also enjoys reading thrillers and visiting breweries and wineries wherever he goes.
Michael is known for his genuine curiosity and thoughtful nature. “Everyone has a story, and I try to listen,” he says. “Even if we don’t agree, I think there’s value in hearing someone’s perspective. It helps me grow—not just professionally, but personally too.”
